Xiaomi is all set to launch the much-anticipated Xiaomi Pad 7 Series. The company’s tablet series has been doing quite well since its revival with the 5th Generation. Now, the Xiaomi Pad 7 series aims to follow in the footsteps of the well-received Pad 6 series. This upcoming series will feature two variants: Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro. The Pro version has already passed China’s 3C certification process and has also been listed on Singapore’s IMDA database. Now, tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked some key information about these upcoming tablets.
Key Features of Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro
According to a recent post by DSC on Weibo, the Xiaomi Pad 7 will be bringing last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It might be an aging chipset, especially with the recent announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. However, we must admit that despite its age, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is capable of beating most of the mid-range chipsets in the market. So, even in 2024, a device with this chip should be considered top-tier in terms of performance. The tablet will feature an 11-inch display with a super-crisp 3K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, which will make it look really smooth and sharp. It will also have a large 10,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging, so it won’t take long to charge and will last a long time.
Gizchina News of the Week
Previous leaks have suggested that the Pad 7 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It will feature a 144Hz OLED display that will offer a top-notch visual experience. The battery capacity and charging speed will be the same as the standard Pad 7. So, expect a 10,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging. Digital Chat Station (DCS) also noted that both the tablets will launch with HyperOS 2.0. It is expected to launch alongside the Xiaomi 15 series. We expect some special tweaks for the larger-sized devices.
Launch Timeline
Initially rumored to launch in Q3 2024, these tablets will be launched alongside the Xiaomi 15 series in October. The initial launch will target the Chinese market, with a global launch likely to follow. The fact that the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro has already passed Singapore’s IMDA certification suggests that international availability is on the horizon. Furthermore, it shows the brand’s intention to reach beyond China.
