Huawei is developing a three-stage foldable smartphone, but it's not the only company doing so. According to a tipster, Xiaomi is also in the advanced stages of developing such a product.
The source has a good track record, so while he hasn't provided solid evidence, there's good reason to believe him. The new device will be part of the Mix lineup, he says, and we'll see the phone, or at least a prototype, in February 2025 at Mobile World Congress.

If the rumor is true, we expect to hear more information in the coming months.
There are six months left until MWC and Xiaomi unveiled two new foldables last month, so it's highly unlikely that the new device will arrive soon so as not to take the spotlight from the original Xiaomi Mix Flip and Mix Fold 4. However, with the holiday season approaching, Xiaomi will certainly be tempted to tease such an exciting product.
Huawei's three-part foldable device will feature a Z-shaped folding pattern, and the CEO of the company's business unit has promised that it will be released in September. It will most likely only be sold in China, and even then in limited quantities as part of some sort of extended beta test.
