WhatsApp is currently working on adding a voice chat mode for the Meta AI chatbot that resides in the messaging app in select markets.
In a future WhatsApp update, this feature will be enabled and you will even be able to choose a voice for the AI chatbot. Obviously, being able to use your voice to interact with Meta AI will make these interactions much simpler than when you have to send a text message.
The option to choose Meta AI's voice is available in WhatsApp for Android beta update 2.24.17.16, which you can get if you own an Android device (of course) and enroll it in the beta via the Play Store – that said, note that enrollment isn't open at all times.
When this feature comes to WhatsApp for Android for everyone, it will let you choose from ten voices for Meta AI. The voices aren't named, but each one has a different colored circle to represent it, as you can see in the screenshot above.
Since all we have right now is a screenshot, we can't tell you what the differences between the voices will be, but we're guessing you'll get a variety of accents and tones.
