Last week, we learned that WhatsApp was developing a feature that would allow users to add people and group chats to lists. Today, we learn that WhatsApp is working on letting users filter chats through these custom lists.
This revelation comes from WABetaInfowho also shared screenshots showing how users can filter chats via custom lists. The labels for the custom lists will appear next to the current “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups” labels in the app. The filter name will be the same as the list name, and when you click on it, you’ll see the individual and group chats associated with that list.
This feature was discovered in the WhatsApp beta app for Android, under version number 2.24.18.16. However, since it is still under development, it is not available even for beta users. But you can expect it to arrive for everyone on the beta channel in the coming weeks before being rolled out publicly.
