Last week's poll reveals mixed opinions on the vivo V40 Pro: some think it's a great option for the price, but even more people think it's too expensive. To be fair, there are regional variations in pricing and competition.
The vivo V40 Pro is considered a flagship chipset version of the V30 Pro. Incidentally, the V30 Pro is only a few months old (it launched in March), so some may be tempted to wait for the V50 Pro. But for now, the V40 Pro is a solid choice if you want high-quality cameras.
There were some complaints about the curved screen, as usual, but the IP69K durability, large 5,500mAh battery, 50MP 50mm telephoto lens, and Dimensity 9200+ are all considered good reasons to choose the V40 Pro.
The base Vivo V40 is a much smaller upgrade – same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, same 6.78-inch curved OLED display. Sure, it gets the IP69K rating (instead of the base IP54) and the battery is 500mAh larger. However, the popularity of this model will depend even more on reviews than for its Pro sibling.
The Zeiss label on the back promises superior optics to those used by the V30, so an improvement in image quality could tip the scales in favor of the V40. The price is an issue, however, as the same amount of money can get you a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip with the Xiaomi 14 Civi, which also has a telephoto lens, unlike the V40.
