Welcome to your weekly recap. vivo has unveiled the V40 series with the vanilla and V40 Pro. Both phones feature 5,500mAh batteries, the largest in the V series to date. The vivo V40 inherited the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 from the vivo V30, while the vivo V40 Pro took a big step forward and now features a Dimensity 9200+ chip, which is much more powerful than the Dimensity 8200 that powered the previous three vivo V Pro phones.
The vivo V40 and V40 Pro are now on sale in India, adding to the former’s availability in Europe. Both will then gradually roll out to other markets where vivo is present. The V40 starts at INR 39,999 in India and €500 in Europe, while the vivo V40 Pro’s base price is INR 54,999.
The Infinix Note 40X 5G was launched with the Dimensity 6300 and a 108MP primary camera. The phone is available in Starlit Black, Lime Green, and Palm Blue, starting at INR 13,999 ($167).
The V40 Pro also comes equipped with a powerful Dimensity 9200+ chipset.
Free sales in India begin on August 9.
There were also two chipset stories: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is expected to be unveiled in October, has appeared on Geekbench. Comparing the early results with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 shows a promising 35% increase in single-core performance and 30% in multi-core.
Mediatek has officially announced its Helio G100 chipset eight days after launching the first phone to feature the platform, the Tecno Camon 30S Pro. The detailed specifications shared by Mediatek reveal that the Helio G100 is virtually identical to the Helio G99 in terms of CPU and GPU. The most notable change is the added support for 200MP primary cameras.
The chipset shows impressive CPU performance gains over its predecessor.

In the usual Pixel 9 scenario, we got US pricing for the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL — the Pixel 9 Pro will start at $999.99, the Pixel 9 Pro XL will cost $1,199 with 256GB of storage. We also got some reiterated specs.
This follows a previous leak which brought us EU pricing.
The XL model is said to feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with 1,344 x 2,992 px at up to 3,000 nits of brightness, along with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

Finally, the Huawei nova Flip is official for China with a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED and a 4,400mAh battery. The Honor V3 is available globally in red, green, and black. Finally, the Galaxy A35 and A55 will get Galaxy AI.
It is not known exactly when, but it will happen soon.
Red, green and black are coming, white will remain exclusive to China.
Open sales in China will begin on August 10.
