Officially Gassed's latest upload pits three Supras against each other. Unfortunately, one turbocharged Supra has gone out early due to a rather wild off-track foray.
But first, let’s talk specs. The most powerful fourth-gen Supra here is the car with the Nankang AR-1 tires. Owned by John, this particular Supra makes a whopping 1,200 horsepower from its fully-assembled 2JZ.
All three contenders are listed with a curb weight of around 1,600 kilograms, or 3,527 pounds in old money. That's a bit more than a completely stock Mk4 weighs, with Toyota quoting anything between 3,265 pounds and 3,515 pounds for the North American model for the 1998 model year.
In terms of peak power, Kenan’s car is the second most powerful here with 1,100 horsepower. Equipped with Yokohama Advan A052 tires, Kenan’s pride and joy is further distinguished by a ZF 8HP conversion. Specifically, the 8HP70, with the 70 in the name referring to a peak torque input of 700 newton meters or 516 foot-pounds.
Harley owns the least powerful Mk4 of the bunch. However, the 780-hp Thriller has the upper hand on the other two in terms of rubber. Harley runs Michelins up front and a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street S/Ss out back, giving it the edge when digging. How big is that advantage? Consider 4.15 seconds to 60 mph (97 kilometers per hour) compared to 4.38 for Keenan’s automatic-equipped Supra and 4.60 for John’s 1,200-hp Mk4.

Harley and his MT-equipped Supra ran 12.05 seconds in the quarter with rollout out, clocking 131.76 mph (212 kilometers per hour). Despite some issues, John's car managed a respectable 13.69 seconds from the loud pedal to 83.14 mph (134 kilometers per hour). And Keenan?
Incredibly, it slid backwards over the quarter-mile mark at 71.07 mph (114 kilometers per hour). Keenan covered that distance in 18.33 sprints as it slid into the grass to the left of the track. The 1,100-horsepower Supra was just a few degrees away from ending up on its roof, but fortunately landed back on all fours, with its owner walking away unharmed.
The accident occurred during the first drag race, which was even more demoralizing for Keenan. However, his ZF-swap Supra made easy work of the other two from a roll, recording the fastest time from 100 to 200 kilometers per hour (161 to 322 kilometers per hour). The VBOX Motorsport performance box indicated 4.74 seconds in 197.02 meters, which translates to 215.46 yards or 646.39 feet.
Harley’s Mk4 clocked 6.69 seconds in 278.05 meters, while John failed to make a clean pass, not recording any 100-200 click times. The big question is: which of these Supras would you like to make your own and why?
