This electric scooter adapts to the user and can be folded to be taken on a plane

The human body has limitations, and as time goes by, more and more limitations appear in our daily lives. But, living in the wonderful times we live in, we don't have to rely on our legs alone to get around the city; we can use mobility scooters like the Atto Sport Max.

Ladies and gentlemen, and lovers of the wonders of old age, indulge me with your eyes for the next few minutes, so we can learn more about the Atto Sport Max, a compact, elegant electric scooter designed to allow you to move around the city and to local supermarkets with maximum comfort and ease of use.

To begin with, let's look at the overall design of the Max. Here, we are looking at a tricycle design with one front wheel and two rear wheels. But the real conclusion is this Electric vehiclefoldable feature. When it's time to store or transport your trike, in 10 seconds, you'll have a suitcase-like structure that can be easily dragged behind you wherever you go.

It’s also the suitcase look that’s sure to appeal to more than just the elderly; anyone can use this EV, regardless of age. This feature is also part of the design of this trike to allow owners to take their Max on flights; be sure to check with the carriers about luggage size restrictions.

At its core, the Max is made of aluminum, ensuring a lightweight and sturdy construction. How lightweight? Out of the box, without any frills, we’re looking at a 66-pound (30kg) frame, which is pretty good if you’ve played with such devices before. In terms of strength, a Max can handle a rider up to 300 pounds (136kg).

Part of the Atto Sport Max's design also focuses on maximum comfort for its occupants. To do so, one of the first components we need to focus on is the ergonomic seat and its armrests; this will be your throne. Plenty of legroom also accompanies the mix, as does cruise control, so all you have to do is relax and brake if something pops out in your path. When storing, the seat simply folds up and you're ready to go.

Another component that adds to Max’s comfort are the wheels. Instead of opting for air-filled tires, which reduce vibration and shock but can be difficult to change if they get punctured, Atto has chosen to use airless tires that will never get punctured. Although these jewels are often made of compressed composite materials, the air pockets in the composition allow them to give way when they encounter a crack, bump, pebble, or curb.

Then there’s the question of power: what can we expect from this mobility machine? Overall, a brushless DC motor is mounted on the front wheel, and while Atto doesn’t mention power output, they do say that the Max can reach up to 6 km/h (3.7 mph). This top speed is accompanied by six different speed settings, allowing you to find the right pace for your journey.

As for range, there’s nothing to say about the battery capacity, other than that it runs on less than 48V, but on a full charge, just over 11 miles (18 miles) is the maximum range the Max can spit out. Once it’s empty, you can be back cruising around the neighborhood in up to four hours. One nice thing about the battery is that it’s flight-approved, so no worries there.

The final piece of the Max puzzle is its ability to adapt to the user. Features like the cruise control I mentioned, left-hand compatibility, storage under a height-adjustable seat, and a programmable LCD display are just a few of the features that will allow you to make the Max your own.

In terms of safety, there are the speed settings I mentioned, but part of the story is the barking system. There is a disc brake up front, but features like automatic braking and an electric parking release brake add even more safety.

While vehicles like these are often reserved for seniors, people my age (36) can use these, especially if they have had an accident that has limited their mobility. I broke my leg a couple of years ago and this EV would have had a place in my heart at that time.

The question is, how much will the Atto Sport Max cost interested buyers? Well, it all depends on where you are in the world. But, on average, we're looking at a price tag of around $5,500 (€5,000 at current exchange rates). Again, this depends on where you are in the world and even your dealership. Be sure to shop around, as this little three-wheeler has countless dealers.
