This custom luxury camper feels like a true home away from home

RVs are seen by travel enthusiasts as the most versatile type of mobile habitat, perfect for those who want to experience the freedom of the open road and the thrill of exploration in comfort. The best thing about RVs is that they can be customized to be whatever you want them to be; just like a blank canvas on which you can draw your dreams on the go.

For most vanlifers, campers aren’t just a means of transportation, they’re a home on wheels. And that’s the attribute that best describes the custom build we’ll be exploring today. Clover is a true home on wheels with an ingenious interior layout that creates multiple functional zones and a visually pleasing aesthetic that makes it look better than some conventional homes.

This stunning conversion is based on a 2023 model All-wheel drive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170″ and is fully equipped for boondocking in the wilderness or for shorter stays at campsites and everything in between. Thanks to its compact size compared to larger campers or motorhomes, Clover is easy to maneuver, regardless of whether you are traversing city streets or country roads, making it a great travel companion.

There are several aspects that make this camper stand out from the crowd. One is the beautiful and clean interior design with a rich color palette of neutrals, greens and natural wood, which combine harmoniously to give warmth and tranquility to this mobile home.

Another is the innovative layout that maximizes the use of space. Due to the limited square footage, most van builders choose to keep the interior open, with no formal separation between different functional areas. Clover designers deviated from the norm and put not one but two actual walls with doors inside the van: one separating the cabin from the living space, and the other between the bedroom and the living/kitchen area. This is something you rarely see in vans like this, especially since dividers usually limit the available space. That doesn’t seem to be the case, however, as these walls inside the Clover make you feel like you’re in a tiny home and bring a host of benefits, such as better insulation, privacy in the sleeping area, and more wall space.

Cleverly designed to make life on the road a hassle-free and enjoyable experience, Clover boasts a fully functional kitchen, a convertible dinette that converts to a twin bed, a fully private bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and a garage for storage. As for bathroom needs, it has an outdoor shower and a composting toilet that slides out from under one of the dinette benches.

The walk-through kitchen features custom green cabinetry paired with hickory countertops and a beautiful backsplash. It has plenty of counter space for meal prep, a pull-out pantry, and convenient appliances, including a two-burner Empava induction cooktop, an 85-liter Vitrifrigo refrigerator with freezer compartment, and a black stainless steel sink.

The small living/dining area in the center of the van features comfortable bench seating with storage drawers and commercial-quality leatherette cushions, as well as a custom-made expandable table that can be adjusted to seat height and convert this space into a bed.

Behind the partition wall with discreet arched sliding doors, you will find the bedroom, a cocoon of relaxation and meditation. Perched on a raised platform, the queen-width memory foam mattress will allow you to truly relax while enjoying the beautiful views of the surrounding area through the open rear doors.

The sleeping area also includes two overhead storage cabinets, individually controlled ceiling lights, USB/USB-C chargers on both sides of the bed, and a Dometic RTX 2000 air conditioner. Additional storage for clothes and other personal items is located in the front of the van, where the builders included a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe with a hanging rod and mirror, and a headliner shelf above the cab.

With all these creature comforts and an inviting interior design, Clover truly feels like a home away from home. Plus, it’s built to be energy efficient, ready for off-grid adventures, and comfortable in all weather conditions. It features an intelligent electrical system, a 30-gallon freshwater tank, a four-gallon greywater tank, and an Espar D5E heater, making it ideal for full-time living and working on the go. The van’s electrical system includes a pair of 270Ah BattleBorn lithium-ion batteries, 400W of solar, a 3,000W Victron MultiPlus inverter, and a Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controller.

As for the van's exterior, the Clover is pretty modest. It boasts a Silver Grey colour scheme, has rear windows, and comes with a Front Runner roof rack and two 200W solar panels mounted on it, with room for a third. A 30A power outlet and a hot and cold shower are also included.

This custom luxury van has been used as a rental camper in Beverly Hills, California, but still has extremely low mileage (7,050 miles) and is now for sale on Vanlife Traders. The listing doesn’t list the manufacturer, but it’s obviously a high-end build with quality materials and great attention to detail. If you’ve been looking for a grid-compatible mobile home for memorable outdoor experiences, the Clover camper can be yours for $130,000.
