The Z06 was launched in 2001 with an ambitious goal: to make the ZR-1 forgotten. Chevrolet believed that installing an updated version of the LS1 would solve the problem, but the 385 horsepower of the first iteration needed a boost despite the car's light weight.

GM was quick to get the message, and while the Z06 was already faster, it decided to further refine the new model with a power increase to 405 horsepower starting with the 2022 model year.

The car was a little rocket on wheels. Thanks to this boosted engine, it could go from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in less than four seconds, while the top speed exceeded 170 mph (275 km/h).

The owner of this 2003 Corvette Z06 probably wanted to experience this performance for himself, as he wrecked the car shortly after bringing it home. The Z06 was involved in a major accident that caused extensive damage, including to the frame.

eBay seller billybills2 says the chassis has already been repaired and most of the damage done in 2003 has been addressed, with the car now in the final stages of being back on the road. However, it still needs some further minor repairs and parts, with the engine requiring particular attention.

It won't start or run anymore, but the owner says the last time he heard the engine running was three years ago. This gives hope that the engine is not seized, although it is important to find a good mechanic and see for yourself what is going on under the hood.

The car is in need of a repaint, as the Electron Blue paint hasn't held up well to years of being on the road. However, at least you don't have to worry about rust damage, so with a few finishing touches, this Corvette Z06 could be back on the road soon.

The biggest surprise about this Vette is the mileage. As I said, it's a 2003 model, and it broke down in 2003, so it hasn't seen much time on the road. The odometer only says 1,600 miles, and they're obviously original.

The car ended up on eBay, as the owner is looking for someone else to put the finishing touches on the Corvette before it can hit the road again. They believe $15,000 is a fair price, but they have also activated the Make Offer button to allow others to submit bids if they want the car. The auction site indicates that there is great interest in this car, as over 40 people have already added it to their watchlists.

You can find it in Jackson, New Jersey, and since the engine won't start, you'll need a trailer to take it to the shop.
