Contrary to what we see around us every day, luxury doesn’t have to mean opulent, oversized, or outrageous. The definition of luxurious is a bit of a stretch, but it should always involve a certain level of sophistication and elegance, and more than the right amount of quality.

On that note, this pocket camper is a solid example of luxury mobile living. It has all the comforts of home, and while it’s far from flawless, it boasts a very stylish and well-crafted interior that will — according to the manufacturers — make you never want to leave. Of course, this kind of defeats the purpose of buying a camper in the first place, so consider it poetic license.

This is Mobilvetta’s K-Yacht Tekno Line 90, a Class A camper introduced three years ago. It hasn’t changed much since then, and for good reason: it seems to strike the right balance between comfort, workmanship, and bold touches of luxury.

Mobilvetta Design started out as a furniture manufacturer and branched out into camper production only in the 1970s. With the career change, they maintained their approach to product construction by handcrafting all components in-house and focusing on quality workmanship and a luxurious feel.

The K-Yacht Tekno Line 90 motorhome is a good example of this. It’s not the largest motorhome you’ll find – far from it! – but it still seats four passengers and still features a kitchen and bathroom that could be described as a spa without coming close to lying. Between day and night modes, it also offers several well-defined areas that are both beautiful to look at and highly functional.

The K-Yacht 90 is built on a Fiat chassis, lowered to accommodate a double floor which offers additional advantages, such as the possibility of installing heating underneath, accommodating more storage solutions and offering greater stability on the road.

The overall length is 7.45 meters, with 2.35 meters of height, but the camper feels much larger inside thanks to the modular interior and the fact that it has wraparound windows and almost as many opening skylights as you have fingers on your hand. These help create what Mobilvetta describes as a sheltered but still connected space to the outdoors, one that you may not want to leave once you've set everything up.

To create ample, comfortable spaces, the layout integrates the cockpit, where the swivel chairs become dining chairs or even lounge seats, opposite the fold-out dining table with its pair of matching benches. Each bench has removable panels and then panels that also rotate so they can face forward during transport. They become the second row of seatbelts, to put it in much clearer terms.

There is storage space above and below the bench, as well as “secret” cubbies built into the floor. This last bit is a feature you will find throughout the camper, thanks to the low chassis and double floor.

At night, one of the two queen-sized beds available in this living/dining area drops. Using a manual mechanism, the bed descends from the ceiling along with its privacy curtains, providing a private nook for two adults.

The kitchen is a bit of a letdown, though it could use some future improvements. It's made up of two different blocks: the kitchen proper on one side, with a three-burner stove, a small sink, an oven, and storage underneath; and the large fridge and freezer built into the opposite wall, just below the control center. It's probably not the kind of kitchen where you'd want to cook three meals a day for four people, leaning more toward “okay” territory.

The bathroom, on the other hand, looks super-sleek. It's a “convertible” unit in that it can be an en-suite to the master bedroom at the back or just close off the toilet, making it accessible to everyone else. It has a walk-in shower on one side, all wood-paneled and with soft lighting, and a large bathroom with sink and a surprising amount of storage on the other side.

The back bedroom boasts a king-sized island bed over the massive garage, with bedside tables and cabinets floating on each side and hanging closets overhead. Hand-crafted pockets add more storage options, but you also get deep drawers under the bed and even more storage in compartments accessible by lifting the mattress.

The K-Yacht 90 features USB charging ports everywhere, even in the bedroom reading lights, an outdoor shower, additional exterior storage and the pièce de résistance: a large heated and illuminated gear garage at the rear. ALDE heating and a 120W solar panel on the roof add to the comfort, but there is no information on the size of the grey and fresh water tanks.

The Mobilvetta K-Yacht Tekno Line 90, like all Mobilvetta campervans and vans, is sold through a dealer network, so the price will vary depending on the dealer you choose and the options. The unit shown in the second video below, available in the UK and including all the features mentioned above, retails for £118,995, which is approximately $157,000 at the current exchange rate.
