The update with camera improvements for the Galaxy S24 Ultra has been delayed… or has it?

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra users have already received a camera-based update this year. This took place in April, and owners of the 2024 Galaxy flagship were further encouraged when they were told that another update to the phone's rear cameras would be included with the One UI 6.1.1 update, which is due to arrive in the first week of August. And while Galaxy S24 Ultra Users have started receiving an update this week, but it is not the one they have been eagerly awaiting. So far this month Galaxy S24 Ultra Users have only received the August monthly security update, although this has only been confirmed by AT&T users on Reddit. So we should see a wide range of Galaxy S24 Ultra Units in the US will receive the security update soon. Usually, you install the security update even though you think it's no big deal. But this time, that's not the case.

The August security update for the Galaxy S24 Ultra fixes bugs, improves phone performance, and addresses 14 software bugs found on Samsung devices. Three of these vulnerabilities are rated as severe. And yes, these are important fixes because some of the vulnerabilities, if exploited, could allow attackers to take over a target phone. While it's great to get these patches, One UI 6.1.1 with the camera update hasn't arrived yet.

Ice Universe, the leaker whose tweet Galaxy S24 Ultra User who was excited in July now says One UI 6.1.1 is delayed. He is surprised by the delay considering the update has been in testing for a long time. He also points out that the update includes all the new camera features found in the Galaxy Fold 6. A big question is whether the delay for One UI 6.1.1 means a long delay for One UI 7.0, which is believed to include an even bigger camera update than the Galaxy S24 Ultra that users expected this month.

SamMobile posted a contradictory tweet saying that the release of One UI 6.1.1, which includes the camera update, has not been delayed but is just still in the testing phase. The testing apparently has something to do with GalaxyAI's performance on mid-range Galaxy devices. Just a couple of days ago, we told you that Samsung plans to add some GalaxyAI features to the mid-range Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 models.
