The Rivian referral code frenzy is in full swing

Rivian is trying to take a Tesla-like approach to finding new customers. Since it can’t take advantage of a dealer network because it sells EVs directly to consumers, the young brand is incentivizing existing supporters to convince others to buy its expensive vehicles. Some people have found fault (sort of) with the program and are rushing to get as many referrals as possible.

Rivian's program consists of up to three years of free, unlimited DC charging with the company's network of distributors, the Rivian Adventure Network (RAN). Plus, every person who purchases an R1T or R1S with your unique code receives $750 in “store credit.”

This amount can be used for accessories or as a discount for a brand new Rivian. The great thing is that the car company does not limit the number of credits you can get. If you refer 10 people, you get $7,500. Tell 1,000 people how great the Rivian ownership experience is, convince 100 of them to place an order (and follow through), and you could earn $75,000!

THE Electric vehicle The manufacturer is even encouraging its US-based customers to refer more people. It promises a special experience to the first 100 people who make 25 successful referrals. They will join the brand for a weekend getaway in 2025. As a welcome bonus, referrals get the same reward: six months of free charging and $750 in points. Once they have an account and a VIN linked to it, they can start referring the R1T or R1S as well.

But those who have already jumped at the chance to help America’s hottest car startup sell more rides aren’t after free charging or a weekend with Rivian reps. They’re after that $750 reward.

Those who heard about the show or saw it air first have already launched some cheeky web initiatives to “help” those who want the perks but don’t have friends or family with a Rivian EV in their driveway. One person even sponsored a Reddit post containing their code!

The only problem with this type of initiative is that the car company could discover the fraud and cancel the prizes. Don't risk it for a cookie!

On the other hand, the Rivian community anticipated something like this and created a random referral code generator that anyone can use. If you want a new EV created with Normal, it is best to get the code from someone you know or from that website. This way, no one will be able to play the program.

Finally, the most affordable Rivian R1T and R1S cost $69,900 and $75,900, respectively. At this price, buyers can get a battery-powered pickup or a three-row vehicle. Off-road with 533 horsepower, 610 lb-ft of torque and 270 miles of range. The high-voltage energy storage unit boasts a lithium iron phosphate cathode, which is believed to be safer and degrades more slowly than nickel manganese cobalt or nickel cobalt aluminum chemicals.

Don't forget that the federal EV tax credit only applies to SUVs and pickup trucks that cost $80,000 or less.
