Anyone who’s ever had the fortune of driving both three probably has a favorite, and if yours is the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, then stick around, because we’re not going to denigrate it in this story. No, sir (and ma’am), because what we’re going to do instead is revisit the Haute Voiture model that debuted nearly two years ago, as we’ve just found one that’s looking for a new home.
First, let’s remember a little about this vehicle, starting with the eponymous concept that previewed it in 2022. Well, Mercedes may have called it a study, but it was actually a pre-production model. About six months after the concept was unveiled, the three-pointed star brand’s luxury division took the wraps off its production version.
As you might expect from a high-end car, the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Haute Voiture benefits from several upgrades, such as surround lighting with animated projection and a two-tone exterior finish. In the cabin, it features gold, rose gold, beige, and blue accents. The Crystal White leather upholstery makes it look extra vibrant. The floor mats are also on the premium side of things, as they are made of linen and mohair. Blue piping adds a bit of contrast to the whole thing, and rose gold champagne flutes are also on deck.

Mercedes took special care of the S 680 when transforming it into the Haute Voiture Edition, as it even gave it sparkling clouds of glitter in the MBUX infotainment system. These are said to be “emphasize the atmosphere of the catwalk.“Along with the car is a collection of bags, a car cover with the Haute Voiture and Maybach logos, and a scale model. And they were all offered at no extra cost when this model was still on sale.
As its name suggests, the Mercedes-Maybach Haute Voiture is based on the S 680 variant. This means it doesn't have a V8 engine under the hood, but a 6.0-liter V12 with twin turbocharging. The engine is capable of developing 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque and generates 621 horsepower (630 ps/463 kW). A 9-speed transmission provides everything to the All-wheel drive system. The manufacturer claims that 0-60 mph (97 km/h) is covered in four and a half seconds, which is not bad at all for a luxury sedan.
In addition to the special features, the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Haute Voiture is also a limited edition. That's right, you didn't think the company would build too many of these, did you? Only 150 of them were ever built, so coming across one looking for a new owner can be tricky. We've found a couple for sale at the time of writing, and the one pictured is probably the most interesting. After all, it only has the delivery miles on it, so it's a brand-new machine ready to hit the road in comfort.

As you might expect from such an exclusive and refined vehicle, it benefits from a ton of features. The ad, which we’ll link to in a moment, lists them all and also reveals the asking price of this Light Rose / Nautical Blue in addition to the car having a white leather interior. So, how much would it cost to park this in your garage? A lot of money, actually, but then again, you didn’t think it was a few cents, did you? After all, we’re talking about a brand-new, modern Maybach that features plenty of niceties and stays true to the V12 recipe (as any luxury car should!).
But enough chit chat, it’s time to reveal how much this Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Haute Voiture costs. The answer is €487,662, which at current exchange rates equates to $534,094. The price includes taxes, and Hollmann International has been tasked with finding a new home for this luxury cruiser.
You can access the listing online here and read about the special features of this car, but before you do, a brand new Mercedes-Maybach S 680 will set you back $234,300 (before destination and dealer markups) in the United States. If you can live with a V8-powered Maybach S-Class, then the S 580 might be the right choice for you, as it starts at $198,300. This model boasts 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) and 496 horsepower (503 ps/370 kW) and is just two-tenths of a second slower than the S 680.
So, would you spend more than half a million dollars on the Haute Voiture pictured if you were looking for a luxury sedan, or would you buy a new S 580 or S 680 instead? Keep in mind that the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Bentley Flying Spur are also very good.
