Kansas City-based ProCharger Superchargers is at it again with another development for the mid-engine C8 Chevrolet Corvette sports car. In late 2021, they gave the new C8 Chevy Corvette Stingray a 675+ horsepower upgrade for easy Z06 bragging rights. Then, just last summer, they upped the ante with Corvette Convertible kits and systems that could easily reach 1,000+ horsepower, basically teasing what’s to come with the 2025 ZR1!
Now, a year later, they haven't forgotten that the C8 is a major revolution for the “American sports car.” As such, alongside the naturally aspirated Stingray and FPC-powered Z06 plus the twin-turbocharged FPC-powered ZR1, there's also a nice 655-horsepower, year-round hybrid E-Ray all-wheel-drive model for $105k. It pairs the Stingray's 6.2-liter V8 with 495 hp and power sent to the rear wheels via the company's eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with a single electric motor driving the front wheels with 160 hp and the combined All-wheel drive the power is a whopping 655 hp.
But that’s just the beginning of the journey for the folks at ProCharger Superchargers: engineers integrate the Corvette C8 Low Profile ProCharger Superchargers system and their P-1X supercharger. Ultimately, “power gains exceed 230+ horsepower over the stock horsepower numbers. This upgrade yields a staggering total of over 885+ usable horsepower, delivering epic power in a sleek, compact design.” The gist of it all is simple: At a fraction of the cost, the supercharged C8 E-Ray is faster than a $4 million Bugatti Chiron.
In testing, the modified C8 E-Ray goes from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just two seconds flat! That’s faster than a 2024 Porsche 911 Turbo S with the Sport Chrono Package or a Taycan Turbo S plus Z06 in 2.6 seconds, up from the 2.5-second mark for the stock E-Ray and Lamborghini Revuelto, and even faster than a 2024 Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale or 2024 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, both of which do the sprint in 2.3 seconds, according to AutoTrader! The tuning house even cites electric vehicles like the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air Sapphire, which — under ideal conditions — do times of 1.99 and 1.89.
However, according to the company, their ProCharged E-Ray delivered the 2.0-second results “with almost no effort. In other words, it did it on 93 octane, no additives, in 97-degree heat and an average stretch of unprepped asphalt.” The side note even says they specifically refrained from using drag radials! The best thing about this kit? It starts at just $16,999 and is available on both the coupe and HTC models, as well as the regular Stingray and E-Ray hybrid models!
