After skipping a few generations, Motorola has just brought back the Moto G4x series with a new device, launched first in India. Welcome to the Moto G45, a smartphone with a 5G-ready chipset and three vibrant color options that costs around $150.
The Moto G45 is powered by a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, the same chip found in the Moto G85, which clocks in at 2.3GHz on its powerful CPU cores. RAM is either 4GB or 8GB, and storage is just 128GB, but can be expanded with a microSD card in the hybrid slot.
The Moto G45 is built around a basic 6.5-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, but it at least offers a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. There's a punch-hole for the 16MP camera and a sheet of Gorilla Glass 3 on top for added protection.
On the back is a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, placed next to a 2MP macro sensor.
One of the Moto G45’s main selling points is its colorful appearance. Motorola has once again partnered with Pantone and the device comes in Brilliant Blue, Brilliant Green, and Vivid Magenta, which was Pantone’s Color of the Year 2023. All three options feature a vegan leather back and NFC under the panel.
Motorola has equipped the phone with a 5,000mAh battery and will sell it with a 20W TurboPower charger in the box. The operating system is Android 14 with the promise of almost no bloatware, which is always a good thing. The Moto G45 also has an FM radio and a 3.5mm audio jack, features that are still appreciated by many customers in India.
