The Ingolstadt-based car manufacturer is working hard to reinvent its range: All models will now be distinguished by powertrain: odd numbers are reserved for vehicles based on ICE engines, while all even numbers belong to the fully electric e-tron variants.
One of the biggest assets Audi is pushing forward this year is its roster of compact/midsize executive models. For example, just in July, they shared the first details about the first crossover SUV, the 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron, which will arrive in America in the fourth quarter of the year. This model is dubbed the Audi with the “longest range and fastest charging” among all-electric SUVs, boasting 307 miles on the EPA cycle and 276 miles for the lively SQ6 model.
The company then unveiled the all-new Audi A5 and S5 family, which includes the Avant sedan and wagon models for the first time, and also said goodbye to the Sportback, Coupé, and Cabriolet variants. Wait, wait, there’s more: At the end of July, they also launched the all-new Audi A6 e-tron with Sportback and Avant body styles, as well as the RWD, quattro, and S6 models. That’s a big list, right?
Well, apparently, they missed the chance to reignite the team of the four musketeers because the 2025 Audi Q5 compact crossover Off-road It’s not official yet. The series debuted in 2008 and was based on the Audi MLB platform shared with its Audi A4 and A5 siblings, and the second iteration arrived nearly a decade later for the 2018 model year. It’s been one of Audi’s best-selling products since its launch, and it makes sense that it would debut as an all-new generation following the 2021 mid-cycle facelift and the arrival of the all-new A5 series.
Fear not, if Audi doesn't hurry up, the parallel universes of vehicular CGI have already asked the imaginative realm of automotive digital content creators to take matters into their own hands and come up with the third installment of the popular Audi Q5 series based on the latest spied prototypes. For example, the good folks at Kolesa, along with their resident pixel maestro Nikita Chuicko, aka Kelsonian on social media, they imagined the design of the next generation as a very serious matter.
Of course, due to the tremendous success of the Q5 series, everyone, including the outlet’s resident pixel master, thinks that Audi will tread carefully with the new installment. Unlike some of its new models, the Q5 won’t feature a split headlight arrangement up front, but rather is expected to be inspired by the new A5 family. At the rear, it will (allegedly) have a full-width LED taillight strip and may only be available as a Sportback model, if the unofficial and hypothetical design project seen here is to be believed. What do you think?
