The all-new 2025 Audi Q5 breaks the mold with a fresh new look and advanced technology

The 2025 Audi Q5 has arrived. The third-generation model has been redesigned, features a new cabin, updated technology, and rides on a new platform. The flagship SUV will be sold in two variants in the United States.

After more than 15 years on the market, the third-generation Audi Q5 seems to know exactly what customers want and is working hard to deliver it, ready to set some rules in the midsize car segment. Off-road segment.

Audi has prepared two engines for the 2025 Q5 U.S. lineup. The 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine delivers 268 horsepower. A seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission sends power to all four wheels with the help of the quattro all-wheel drive system.

The other powertrain, which powers the top-of-the-line SQ5, is the one that integrates the 3.0-liter six-cylinder TFSI unit with 362 horsepower and the same configuration as the 2.0-liter version. Neither has electrification involved. Meanwhile, all European models will feature a mild-hybrid system with a 1.7-kWh battery and a 24 horsepower electric motor.

The SUV now rides on the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture, which, according to the automaker, makes it more comfortable and easier to handle. Frequency-selective dampers (FSD), combined with the standard steel suspension and air suspension with adaptive damper control, are available in the range. Enhanced progressive steering comes as standard.

The 2025 Audi Q5 features a freestanding curved display, which integrates the 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and the 14.5-inch display MMI touchscreen, with Android Automotive operating system.

The head-up display comes at a premium, as does the 10.9-inch display with Dynamic Privacy shutter technology, positioned in front of the passenger. With Dynamic Privacy mode activated, all the driver can see is a black screen.

The driver will benefit from the presence of the standard flat-bottom steering wheel, without any physical controls. The controls have all been repositioned in the display.

Audi has given the interior of its new SUV more space than ever before, especially in terms of headroom and legroom. The rear seats can be adjusted in several ways, including tilt. There's also a wireless and cooled phone charger, two USB-C ports in the front and two more in the back.

The Q5 lives up to its reputation for practicality. With the rear seats folded down, the trunk volume increases to 1,473 liters.

From the outside, the all-new Q5 looks more compact but sportier, with a muscular silhouette. A high shoulder line makes it look longer and more dynamic.

Matrix LED headlights with eight adjustable light signatures for the daytime running lights come as standard alongside the Singleframe grille. Second-generation digital OLED taillights have appeared at the rear.

They can display customized graphics, which can warn other drivers of accidents or breakdowns. They integrate six digital OLED panels with a total of 266 segments, generating a new image several times per second, based on a specially developed algorithm.

The exhaust pipes indicate the engine that powers the vehicle. The SQ5 has four twin round exhaust pipes.

New wheels, new colors

The newly designed wheels, available in 18- or 20-inch sizes, will wear run-flat all-season tires. The SQ5 will also be available with extravagant 21-inch wheels.

Customers will be able to choose from three confirmation features and eleven paint colors. The all-new Tambora Gray metallic joins the solid paint finishes Arkona White, Glacier White, Mythos Black, Floret Silver, Navarra Blue, Grenadine Red and District Green.

In the meantime, Audi is retaining the shades Ultra Blue metallic, Daytona Grey pearl effect and the new Sakhir Gold metallic for the S models or vehicles with the S exterior line.

The all-new Audi Q5 rolls off the assembly line with numerous driver assistance systems, such as rear park assist with distance indicator, cruise control, lane departure warning, efficiency assist, and attention and drowsiness detection.

Customers can also tick the boxes for the optional Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus, which is based on high-resolution map data and swarm data from other vehicles. Active Front Assist includes Front Emergency Brake Assist, Evasion Assist, Turn Assist and Front Cross Traffic Assist.

Meanwhile, the AI-supported learning voice assistant can control various vehicle functions. The SUV is equipped with the Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System, which drives 16 speakers with 685 watts of power. The audio system works with Vehicle Noise Compensation to keep the on-board experience as comfortable as possible.

Audi has not yet released pricing information. However, the base model is expected to start at around $58,000, while the SQ5 is expected to cost $90,000. The Q5 will roll off the production line at Audi's plant in San Jose Chiapa, Mexico, starting this year.
