With U.S. sales declining since 2016, Jeep was forced to remove the Renegade from our market and Canada after the 2023 model year. As a result, the brand's most affordable model is now the larger Compass, but the Renegade lives on in other markets.

But what does the future hold for this nameplate? The answer depends on who you ask, because while some believe that the Jeep Renegade will be refreshed with a new generation that could be expected for the 2027 model year, others are convinced that Jeep will not launch such a product and that the rumored model is nothing more than a subcompact. Electric vehicle.

Mind you, while Stellantis seems undecided about a possible next-gen Jeep Renegade (or maybe it has made up its mind and simply said no), the model continues to pop up in our news feeds. So, give this fake 2027 Jeep Renegade an unofficial shout-out. But why fake? Because it was brought to digital life by Q Cars on YouTube and exists only in the world of renderings.

Digital illustrations imagine what such a vehicle might look like. Between us, it looks a bit like a smaller, more bizarre variant of the current Compass. However, it does have one major styling cue, namely the seven-slot grille. The dual headlights are positioned behind a single plastic panel, and further down we can see a large central air intake, side vents with cutouts for the fog lights, and plenty of black cladding.

The plastic cladding is also visible on the lower parts of the wheel arches and at the rear, where it takes up a good portion of the sporty bumper and diffuser. This digital model has a pair of taillights that appear to be inspired by Alfa Romeo and a special finish on the diffuser that's meant to resemble exhaust tips. A Jeep logo adorns the tailgate and muscular hood, and the car has large side mirrors and black roof rails. It rides on full-size alloy wheels wrapped in regular tires and is presented in a dark shade of blue.

We’re not a big fan of the overall design, although there are some interesting features. Some of the things we like are the muscular shoulders, the squared arches, the slightly sloping roofline, the side windows, and the grille, which is a must for all brand-new Jeeps. Other than that, we think this hypothetical 2027 Jeep Renegade could use some more work to become more appealing and realistic, but it’s still an interesting proposition.

So, if you were in charge of Stellantis, would you give the “baby Wrangler” another chance at life, or would you just let it die in peace? And if you leaned toward the former rather than the latter, that would be a ICE or an electric vehicle?
