The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series looks like you'd need a tuxedo to get in.

The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series looks like sophistication incarnate on four wheels. This thing might be the sportiest model Maybach has ever produced, but the hyper-elegant interior feels like you have to wear a tuxedo or ball gown just to sit in it. Not to mention the freshly polished shoes so as not to defile it. Still, the hood filled with what looks like 3,000 Maybach logos can be a bit ostentatious, right?

For now, the pricing and exact release date of the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series remain under wraps, but we do know that it will arrive in the U.S. in the second half of 2025.

The Maybach SL 680 packs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 577 hp (577 kW) at 5,500-6,500 rpm with 590 lb-ft of torque at 2,500-5,000 rpm. For Europe, that would mean 585 metric horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.

The 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission ensures that power reaches all four corners via its 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive system. Estimated 0-60 mph (96.5 km/h) time is 4.0 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 161 mph (259 km/h).

It is 470 centimetres long, has a wheelbase of 270 cm, rear-axle steering and a turning circle of 12.3 metres.

This almost bespoke beauty is available in “Red Ambience” or “White Ambience,” which sounds like a station above any other color. The Mercedes marketing team sure knows how to make a potential customer feel like the paint itself is a descendant of royalty, and rightfully so. At the end of the day, you’ll be paying for a Maybach.

The Red Ambience color scheme features a two-tone paint finish of Obsidian Black Metallic over MANUFAKTUR Garnet Red Metallic. Obsidian Black Metallic also enriches the White Ambiance concept and contrasts with the MANUFAKTUR Moonlight White Magno. The breathtaking interior in exclusive Crystal White MANUFAKTUR nappa leather with silver chrome accents is not a simple shot in the dark. Mercedes wanted to convey a design philosophy of sensuality, beauty and lightness.

One of the key features of the cabin's quality of life is the electrically adjustable central multimedia display, which you can adjust to your liking when it tries to blind you with glare from the sun. The acoustically insulated soft top, which can be lowered in 16 seconds, is upholstered in light black fabric with a subtle anthracite Maybach pattern.

At the front of the Obsidian Black Metallic hood, you'll find a chrome Mercedes star element and a light-up “MAYBACH” lettering. On top of the hand-polished hood, there's an “invasion” of the Maybach motif incorporated in Graphite Grey, which can be a bit flashy, depending on who you ask.

The elegant front fascia is enhanced by further Maybach logos, which complement the multi-spoke design of the 21-inch wheels and also highlight the side sill panels and the chrome frame of the windscreen.

The rear end has been designed with Maybach-specific taillights, a customary rear fascia with chrome accents and a diffuser panel. Exhaust pipe trims adorn the distinctive horizontal bar. The double aerodynamic intakes behind the seats are also not a bad touch.

Our customers love something special. The Mercedes-Maybach SL Monogram Series adds a sporty two-seater to our model family for maximum open-air pleasure. It combines a dynamic driving experience with everything that characterizes a Mercedes-Maybach: excellent craftsmanship, exquisite design details and high-quality materials,” said Daniel Lescow, Head of Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series wasn't the only surprise recently pulled out of the hat. There's also the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsport with a handcrafted AMG 6.3-liter V8, which delivers 671 horsepower (680 PS) at 7,250 rpm with 538 lb-ft (729 Nm) at 5,250 rpm. Finally, the $339,000 2025 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Edition Nordic Glow 1-of-50 also made an appearance, available only in the United States. As you probably guessed, it should be the “the pinnacle of luxury, refinement and exclusivity.
