The Nissan Rogue compact crossover Off-road It was introduced by the Japanese company in late 2007 and, starting with the second generation in 2013, merged with the international X-Trail model sold outside of North America, making them identical. Currently in its third generation, it is produced by Nissan USA in Smyrna, Tennessee, as well as in Japan and underwent a mid-cycle update for the 2024 model year. Therefore, no one expected much new when the 2025MY arrived in July.
The series launched with a new Rock Creek Edition, and it features a turbocharged three-cylinder engine—sure, an adventure-oriented Rogue is a great addition to the roster, but a turbocharged three-cylinder with variable compression technology isn’t exactly the most reliable idea out there. However, just over a month later, the company also announced pricing details for the 2025 model year.
Thus, the latest version is now available at dealerships with a starting manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $29,230. All grades are offered with the complicated KR15DDT powertrain, a three-cylinder engine with VC-Turbo technology, a setup that changes the compression ratio from 8.0 to 14.0 as needed, and which has already claimed a National Workers Association (NHTSA) preliminary evaluation of Rogue and Altima. In each case, the engine is combined with front-wheel or all-wheel drive, and Nissan offers customers five trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum and Rock Creek, the latter offered exclusively with All-wheel drive.
It slots firmly between the 2024 Toyota RAV4, starting at $28,675, and the 2025 Honda CR-V, starting at $30,100, and has 201 horsepower compared to the Honda’s 190 horsepower and the Toyota’s 203 horsepower. Adventurous shoppers will want to look for the amenities of the new Rock Creek AWD edition, which starts at $35,420, the third-highest MSRP, as it’s only topped by the SL AWD and Platinum AWD at $37,490 and $40,920, respectively. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this special moniker: It follows “the tire tracks left in the dirt by the Pathfinder Rock Creek, and the new Rogue version is ideal for those looking to stand out from the crowd and get away from it.”
The new version comes with all-terrain tires, Hill Descent Control, HD Intelligent Around View Monitor with Off-Road View, water-repellent leatherette seats, a tubular roof rack, and standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Meanwhile, new for 2025MY, the Rogue SL and Platinum trim levels get ProPILOT Assist 2.1, the second model in the lineup with the latest version. Additionally, there are a few additional options, such as Two-Tone Paint ($350), Premium Paint ($425), and Premium Two-Tone Paint ($775), as well as the SV/SL/Platinum/Rock Creek Premium Packages along with the Tech Package.
