The 2025 Nissan launches the U.S. compact crossover category with an attractive MSRP

If you forgot that Nissan has a new Kicks in its lineup, don’t worry: the automaker is only now starting to accept orders, nearly six months after the big reveal.

You're probably curious about how much it costs, so let's dive right in and reveal that it has an MSRP of $21,830 for the base S trim. That's $1,240 more than the old Kicks S. The base trim is available with an all-wheel drive system for an additional $1,500. Kicks SV and SV All-wheel drive start at $23,680 and $25,330, respectively. For the Kicks SR, you'll have to pay $26,180 and $27,680 for the SR AWD.

Nissan touts all-new 2025 Kicks as “well equipped at any price.“Therefore, the most affordable trim level of the latest generation of subcompact crossover is offered with LED exterior lights, a 7-inch infotainment system and the Nissan Safety Shield 360 package of safety features, which includes numerous functions, including automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross-country warning, high beam assist, etc.

Are you looking to upgrade to the 2025 Nissan Kicks SV? Well, then your crossover will also get additional features, such as 17-inch wheels, a wireless charging pad for compatible phones, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with touchscreen functionality. The SR brings 19-inch alloy wheels, a unique LED signature in the headlights, a two-tone interior, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera system, and ProPilot Assist.

As we're sure you already know, assuming you're interested in small crossovers, the new model uses a 2.0-liter inline-four engine. It's capable of delivering 141 horsepower (143 ps/105 kW) and 140 lb-ft (190 Nm) of torque, and is mated to the automaker's Xtronic transmission (Continuously variable transmission). Nissan promises “safe acceleration” and remind everyone that the 2025 Kicks is the first of its kind to feature an all-wheel drive system. This is by far the key feature of the new generation and a rarity in this class.

Visually, the 2025 Nissan Kicks is similar to the Chinese Pathfinder. Some design traits were clearly inspired by the much larger Off-road. The vehicle measures 171.9 inches (4,366 mm) from bumper to bumper and has a long 104.9-inch (2,664 mm) wheelbase in the all-wheel drive configuration. Order yours with front-wheel drive and the axle spacing will measure 104.6 inches (2,657 mm). This is a small variance, but one worth mentioning nonetheless.

The new Kicks is a bit longer, wider, and taller than its predecessor. The larger overall footprint and clever packaging have created a slightly roomier cabin, and for what it's worth, it feels like a major departure from the old one. So, given that it's matured and is also available with all-wheel drive, would you consider buying an all-new 2025 Nissan Kicks?
