Crisis averted: It turns out that the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL sold in India, Malaysia, and Singapore do indeed feature LTPO displays, the same Super Actua panels as the rest of the world. Google has updated the specs listed on the support page that caused the confusion.
There’s also some good news: all Pixel 9 phones support Wi-Fi 7 in all regions. That includes the standard Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google has corrected the mistake in the specs list and added a note that 6GHz operation is only available in regions where local regulations allow it. For example, in India, 6GHz Wi-Fi isn’t officially allowed, but that doesn’t stop Wi-Fi 7 from working on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
Pixel fans in India, Malaysia, and Singapore can breathe a sigh of relief, they won't be getting subpar displays. We have a Pixel 9 Pro XL in review and a vanilla Pixel 9 on the way, stay tuned for a detailed look.
