Tecno now has AI, because of course it has AI: it’s 2024 and if you don’t have it, you lose. Or something like that. At IFA in Berlin, Tecno showed off its “AI Vision,” which isn’t a pair of glasses or contact lenses, but its own suite of AI features that will “enhance productivity, deliver more practical value, and facilitate creative enjoyment.” These features will soon be rolled out across “Tecno’s unique ecosystem of smart devices.”
At the heart of the brand’s AI vision is the revamped Ella AI assistant, which is “connected to Gemini,” whatever that means. Ella has “intelligent conversational Q&A functionality,” meaning it can engage in conversations with you.
There is also a real-time translation feature, which turns speech into text during phone calls or face-to-face situations. AI Writing generates summaries of the text content, proofreads, rewrites in the style of your choice, and also generates new texts from scratch.
AI Search “allows users to learn more about the world by swiping a finger across the screen.” “All users have to do is circle something on their screen to bring up intelligent information.” So it’s Circle to Search, but it’s not labeled as such, oddly enough. AI Artboard lets you generate “a universe of masterpieces across a spectrum of styles” based solely on a text prompt.
AI Erase removes people or objects from photos, AI Portrait Beautification lets you define your own appearance, and AI Cutout lets you select and extract parts of an image to share in chat or create new images. Finally, AI Video Production helps you write scripts as well as add subtitles in post-production.
