In late 2022, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced a new structure for its club competitions for the 2024-25 seasons with three leagues: AFC Champions League Elite, AFC Champions League Two and AFC Women's Champions League.
Tecno, known for its smartphones, laptops and other electronics, has just been announced as the official global supporter of all three leagues. This will help it build brand awareness across the continent as it expands into new markets.
AFC club competitions attract a huge global audience – nearly a billion viewers! – and this partnership will help the tech brand connect with fans around the world. Tecno believes that sports and technology together can inspire people to pursue their dreams.
Tecno has previously sponsored the 34th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and has committed to renovating 100 football pitches across the continent over the next five years. Through this partnership with the AFC, Tecno hopes to convey the spirit of the competition, which is to “stop at nothing”, to old and new fans.
“At Tecno, we always believe in the power of sports to unite communities and inspire progress. This collaboration not only allows us to enable all Asian football fans around the world to have a more interactive and immersive experience during matches through our cutting-edge technology, but also to create a deeper bond of shared passion between Tecno and football fans,” said Laury Bai, Marketing Director of Tecno.
“We thank Tecno for recognising the ever-growing global appeal of the AFC’s world-class competitions, which are poised to announce unprecedented levels of growth in the years to come, and we look forward to working closely with them to create more engaging moments with the passionate fans of Asian football,” said Datuk Seri Windsor John, AFC General Secretary.
