TCL launched a few new smartphones with NxtPaper displays at IFA, but the company also expanded its tablet lineup with this innovative display technology. It introduced the NxtPaper 14 tablet with a 14.3-inch display and a massive battery.
The brand also announced the start of sales of the Tab 11 Gen 2, a classic LCD tablet first presented at MWC.
TCL NxtPaper 14
The NxtPaper 14 features a 14.3-inch NxtPaper 3.0 display, which is the latest version of the e-ink display. It filters out harmful blue light by up to 61% while maintaining sharp images and vibrant colors.
The panel has a resolution of 2,400 x 1,600 px and a brightness of up to 400 nits. The refresh rate is capped at 60 Hz, while the touchscreen supports up to 10 points and works with the TCL T-Pen stylus. The slate has a physical button that quickly switches between Normal, Color Paper, and Ink Paper modes.
The tablet is equipped with a 10,000mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging. The hardware is nothing special, with a Helio G99 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. This is a Wi-Fi-only device that doesn't accept cards – neither SIM nor microSD.
On the back, a circular island houses the 8MP camera with AF, while the front has dual cameras with 13MP and 5MP sensors. They also work for Face Unlock, which is the only biometric unlocking option, as the NxtPaper 14 lacks a fingerprint reader.
The TCL NxtPaper 14 comes with Android 14 and is priced at €399. It will be available in Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
TCL Tab 11 Gen 2
TCL's Tab series consists of practical tablets at an affordable price. Here, the Tab 11 is equipped with an 11-inch NxtVision display, which is what TCL calls its LCD panels. The resolution is 1920 x 1200 and the panel supports a refresh rate of up to 60 Hz.
TCL has equipped the Tab 11 with a Helio G80 processor and 6GB of RAM, which is a major upgrade over last year's Tab 10, which ran on the dated Helio P22 platform and had no more than 4GB of RAM. Additionally, the Tab 11 now has a microSD slot that can expand the storage from 256GB to 1TB.
This device has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie sensor. The battery capacity is 8,000mAh and it supports 18W charging (adapter included in the retail package), and the Tab 11 Gen 2 runs on Android 14.
TCL is offering the Tab 11 Gen 2 in gray for €199. The tablet will be available for sale in Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
