Spotify for iOS and iPadOS now shows EU prices in the app

In March, the European Commission (EC) fined Apple a whopping €1.8 billion ($2 billion) for “abusing its dominant position” in music streaming on iOS and iPadOS. Spotify originally filed the complaint with the EU in 2019, and the Stockholm-based streaming service now has a small victory in the EU, where its iOS and iPadOS apps can display subscription prices and promotional offers.

Unfortunately, there is no direct link to external payment options (i.e. Spotify's official website) yet, as these would be subject to a 27% commission on Apple's sales. Spotify is allowed to direct users to its service via its website, but without displaying the domain or adding a hyperlink to it.

To view Spotify's pricing tiers, iOS and iPadOS users can visit the Spotify app. Settings > Account > View available plans.
