There's been a lot of talk over the past few months about which chipset(s) will power Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 family, which is set to launch in January. First we heard it would be Exynos only, then two separate reports told us to expect Snapdragon everywhere.
Another rumor, coming from Samsung’s parent company Korea, confirms the Snapdragon victory. The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are all rumored to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 globally. This was apparently done to “maximize performance” for the S25 series.
The Exynos 2500 will instead be used in the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, which will be released in the second half of next year. This is an interesting development, as foldables have so far relied on Snapdragon chips. Until they are released, Samsung will have time to improve the 2500's performance and stabilize its performance, the report notes.
