The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could launch as early as this month, or as early as October, if the latest rumors are to be believed. It was recently certified by the FCC, a process that revealed support for 9W reverse wireless charging.
Thanks to the TUV certification, we finally know what to expect in terms of wired charging, and it's not good news. The S24 FE will top out at 25W, exactly the same as its predecessor from last year. So the FE model is once again missing out on at least 45W, which is currently Samsung's maximum. Cost-cutting strikes again, we assume.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
The Galaxy S24 FE will be powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset, but not the standard chipset. Instead, Samsung has chosen, for some reason (reduced cooling costs?), to use a downclocked version of the chip. So this will be a significant step down from the FE compared to the regular S24, for example.
In terms of design, the S24 FE and S23 FE might be very hard to tell apart, at least from the back. Of course, Samsung could make things easier by launching the S24 FE with new colors that weren’t present on its predecessor. Let’s see what happens.
