Roadkill Nights marks the public debut of the Dodge Charger Daytona, with open, walkable pit areas

There’s plenty that the Stellantis brand has in store for the upcoming Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge: the rides, sounds, sights and stars, of course, will all come together at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan.

For the first time ever, the race will take place just outside of Woodward: MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge has moved to a new venue, M1 Concourse, where the company will stage the global public debut of the all-new eighth-generation Dodge Charger in its all-electric Daytona R/T and Scat Pack guise on August 10.

Before that, later today, August 9, the Detroit automaker will hold a press conference at M1 Concourse to unveil the “final performance” of the Dodge Charger Daytona’s Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system. Also on Friday, August 9, there will be a new official “pre-party” for 2024, Sick Powerfest, which includes the World Burnout Championship with a $25k prize pool plus the Sick Spit Show and Shine “where fans can get up close and personal with some of the world’s fastest road cars.”

Unfortunately, admission tickets are sold separately and are not included in the Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge admission price, which starts at $25 for general admission. There are also various discounts for veterans and Pontiac residents, while children (12 and under), Stellantis employees and their guests are admitted free.

Direct Connection, the Dodge performance parts brand with “factory-guaranteed performance parts” offered through the Dodge Power Brokers dealer network, is also at the event. It will host the fourth consecutive Direct Connection Grudge Race, featuring automotive builders and influencers competing in race cars powered by the Direct Connection HurriCrate engine, derived from the high-output version of the 3.0-liter Hurricane Twin Turbo engine.

Celebrities will also be coming to the M1 Concourse: Bill Goldberg (a “Dodge muscle car enthusiast, entertainer and professional wrestler”), NHRA stars Matt Hagan and Leah Pruett, and European Dodge brand ambassador Ida Zetterström, as well as Roadkill’s David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan. Additionally, media personality and Hemmings programming director Mike Musto will compete in Direct Connection Grudge behind the wheel of a Dodge Hornet GT.

Speaking of racing, the main event, now in its ninth year, will bring drag racing from Woodward into the M1 Concourse. For the first time, it will also feature “the first-ever open, drivable pit areas for fans to interact with drivers and a viewing area that brings event attendees up close to the drag racing action.” New for 2024, in addition to the reveal of the Charger Daytona, “attendees will be able to participate in the first-ever Dodge Hornet Rally Rides, with fans riding in the passenger seat for fast laps around a purpose-built dirt and asphalt rally course in the M1 Concourse.”

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona will arrive at the event in R/T guise with 496 horsepower and a Scat Pack, which delivers 670 horsepower and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.
