Volvo is a very interesting car company: a legendary expert in safety technology, a premium and relaxed alternative to the luxury of German and American automakers, and now a potential electric vehicle giant.

The Swedish carmaker committed itself to the path of righteousness a long time ago and quickly cut all ICE larger four-cylinder options: mild hybrids and PHEVs have taken over the top power curve. Now, they’re also dabbling in fully electric vehicles, though it’s been a mixed bag lately.

Their initial efforts (the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge, now called EC40) weren't very successful and the company, with the help of its parent company Geely, decided a more drastic approach was needed. They also have the Polestar brand, which is all about sustainability, and now a couple of dedicated brands as well Electric vehicle models, the full-size crossover Volvo EX90 Off-road and the compact EX30.

The former entered production in America with a two-year delay because it was initially plagued by software issues, and one of the most promising EVs around, the smaller EX30, will see U.S. deliveries delayed until 2025 due to new import tariffs on China. Meanwhile, the regular S60 sedan is dead in the U.S., while in other regions we’ve seen a resurgence of the V60 and V90 wagons due to a resurgence in demand.

Therefore, both the tam tam and the parallel universes of vehicular CGI believe that Volvo, once the problems with the larger EX90 and the smaller EX30 are cleared up, will also focus on the full electrification of the mid-size 60 series. Therefore, the imaginative realm of automotive digital content creators has been tasked with imagining, unofficially and hypothetically, of course, the next fully electric models. For example, here are the attempts of Kleber Silva, a Brazilian virtual artist known as KDesign AG on social media, who decided to try to imagine the offer of medium-sized electric vehicles through CGI.

The pixel maestro believes the series could easily consist of just two models: the 2026 Volvo ES60 sedan and the EX60. The former is a classic four-door model that could easily use the Geely-sourced SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) as its base of operations, just like the Polestar 4 and its upcoming Polestar 5 siblings. However, the latter is a bit more bizarre, as it’s dubbed the EX60 as if we were dealing with the next-generation all-electric XC60 crossover SUV, but it has more of the appeal of a V60 station wagon than anything else.

So, do you think Volvo will soon overcome the problems encountered with the EX30 (which will be produced in Europe to escape tariffs in the Old Continent and North America) and the flagship EX90, establishing itself as a major player in the era of electric vehicles or not?
