The US luxury carmaker recently unveiled the Opulent Velocity concept with massive butterfly doors, the allure of a fast Celestiq, and seating for four. It quickly follows in the footsteps of the Sollei concept, showing what more can be done at the top end of the Ultium premium car lineup: unique models such as open-tops and high-performance options.
But that's not all: Cadillac is also preparing to launch a large package of models in the coming months. The largest of all is the first full-size, all-electric 2025 Escalade IQ Off-roadalong with the completely revamped 2025 Escalade ICEpowered alternative. But they are not alone: we will also see the compact Optiq of 2025 Electric vehicle CUV, the 2026 Vistiq three-row electric SUV aimed at families, and the 2025 Escalade-V and CT5 V-series (including Blackwing).
It's quite a roster for the luxury automaker that not long ago seemed doomed in the face of stiff competition from international rivals like Lexus, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and even Genesis. Fortunately for GM fans in general and Caddy enthusiasts in particular, the brand looks as robust as ever and is ready for anything, including passenger cars and SUVs, as well as both ICE and EV power under the hood.
Alas, the parallel universes of vehicular CGI are never satisfied, it seems, just like the rumor mill. As such, the imaginative realm of automotive digital content creators always seems to think that Cadillac has more room in the lineup, especially Vince Burlapp (aka appburlap on social media or at burlappcar.com), a prolific virtual artist who loves to dream up all the latest models in the vast automotive world, especially those made in America.
The pixel master is constantly in love with Caddy, among other American brands, and dreams of reviving such iconic nameplates as the CT6 (for America, not the Chinese one), Seville, Eldorado, Allante and many others. Recently, he recalled that, once upon a time, the Cadillac Fleetwood series presented one of the most luxurious cars ever made by the brand, the last of the large full-size luxury sedans. Therefore, the CGI expert decided to imagine “what a new-generation Fleetwood might look like if Cadillac were still in the business of large luxury sedans.”
As for the powertrain for this Caddy full-size luxury sedan design project, the author relies on rumors of two new all-electric four-doors being developed by the luxury brand using the updated Ultium+ platform. That’s one way to look at it. Another comes from fans on social media: someone said “they need to bring out the Corvette engine. It would be unstoppable.” What do you think?
