If you’re in the mood for a new budget tablet under 10 inches, the recently announced Redmi Pad SE 8.7 might just be the one for you. It comes in two variants, the first being Wi-Fi only and the second adding LTE connectivity. Both are now on their way to Europe, the UK, and other markets after making their debut in India last month.
No matter which Redmi Pad SE 8.7 model you choose, you get an 8.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 1,340 px, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a 5:3 aspect ratio. The panel is also rated at up to 600 nits brightness in outdoor mode and features a 5 MP front-facing camera. The display is flanked by dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and you also get a headphone jack if you prefer wired audio.
The rear features a single 8MP sensor capable of recording videos in FHD. Both versions of the tablet are powered by MediaTek's Helio G85 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage. The storage is expandable via the built-in microSD card slot.
The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 comes in Wi-Fi only and 4G variants
The software side is covered by Xiaomi HyperOS running on Android 14. Xiaomi has also added a 6,650mAh battery with support for 18W charging, although the tablet only comes with a 10W charger.

The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 comes in Graphite Gray, Aurora Green, and Sky Blue colorways. The Wi-Fi-only 4/64GB version starts at €150/£120 while the LTE model costs €30/£30 more for the same RAM and storage.
