Introduced in April 2021 at the Shanghai Auto Show, the Genesis Electrified G80 has arrived in the United States for the 2023 model year. Similar to the internal combustion engine G80, the zero-emissions SIB measures 118.5 inches axle-to-axle, or 3,010 millimeters in metric terms.
For 2025, however, the Hyundai-owned luxury brand has jumped to 3,140 millimeters for the South Korea-specific Electrified G80. That figure converts to 123.6 inches. In addition to the extra rear legroom for rear occupants, the Electrified G80 also gets a larger battery pack with lithium-ion cells from SK On.
Genesis calls it a fourth-generation battery. Unlike 87.2 kilowatts hours for the 2024 and 2023 models, the 2025 Genesis Electrified G80 sports 94.5 kilowatt-hours for a maximum driving range of 475 kilometers. Converting that to miles would mean nothing because South Korea's way of determining Electric vehicle The range is different from that of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Still, 475 kilometers isn’t bad for a rather large sedan with a curb weight of 2,355 kilograms (5,192 lb). For reference, the standard-wheelbase G80 for South Korea is rated at 1,830 kilos with the standard 2.5-liter turbo I4 or 2,005 with the larger V6, all-wheel drive, and 19- or 20-inch wheels.
By the way, the G80 measures 5,005 millimeters from bumper to bumper, compared to 5,135 millimeters for the all-electric sedan. For comparison, the 223-series Sonderklasse starts at 5,179 millimeters for the S 350 d. Now that we’ve covered the big changes, what else has Genesis changed for 2025?

Genesis also gushes about Chauffer Mode and how the 2025 Electrified G80 is the first Genesis EV to feature the mode. As implied, Chauffer Mode increases rear passenger comfort in a variety of ways, including acceleration and braking, all in the name of improved rear passenger comfort.
The front and rear suspension bushings have been improved to reduce vibration and improve stability, while the Road-Preview electronic suspension proactively monitors vehicle behaviour based on data sources including the satellite navigation system. The rear-wheel steering also deserves a mention, along with Electrically Assisted Dynamic Torque Vectoring and 20 volume levels for the Electric vehicle Active sound design system.

The rear seats can be reclined up to a maximum of 40 degrees with a touch of the screen. The luxurious rear doors can also be opened or closed from the inside with the push of a button.
