Oppo has its own version of a triple-folding concept phone: Check it out

Lately, the idea of a triple-folding phone has been getting closer to reality, with Chinese manufacturers taking the initiative. Huawei is already making waves with the world's first triple-folding smartphone, has already shown it live several times and is preparing for an official unveiling next month. Another player from China, Tecno, has just unveiled its own concept of a triple-folding device, and that has apparently prompted other companies to do the same.

With so many brands working on it, triple-folding phones could be the next big trend

Zhou Yibao, Oppo's product manager for the Find series, gave us a look at the company's tri-fold concept phone on Weibo, the Chinese social media platform. The image shows the device fully opened, giving off real tablet vibes with its large display. The render shows that the phone has dual hinges and a nearly bezel-less main screen, giving it a sleek look. The back is covered in synthetic leather, giving it a touch of elegance. It appears to be using a tweaked version of Oppo's ColorOS, complete with large widgets and a taskbar for easy multitasking.

Since it's just a concept, it's unclear if and when Oppo plans to bring this product to market. Over the years, we've seen countless prototypes and concepts – some have successfully hit the shelves, while others have quietly disappeared.

However, with so many companies jumping on the tri-fold bandwagon, I think we're getting closer to seeing these devices hit the market. As mentioned, Huawei will be unveiling its first tri-fold next month. Rumors say Samsung is working on one, and Xiaomi is also in the mix. Tri-folds could be the next big thing, and I wouldn't be surprised to see more brands join the fray soon.
