Oppo Find N5 / OnePlus Open 2 will be incredibly thin, specs leak reveals

Oppo's next book-style foldable smartphone is expected to arrive soon, according to a now-deleted post from prolific Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station. It will be called the Find N5 and will be the successor to last October's Find N3.

The company will likely ditch the “4” due to tetraphobia. The Find N5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. It will feature an internal “2K+” foldable display, a 50MP main camera using a Sony sensor, a periscope telephoto lens as well, and a circular camera island.

The phone will be just over 9mm thick, which puts it close to Honor's Magic V3, the current record holder for the world's thinnest foldable smartphone. Whether the Find N5 can take that title remains to be seen, but even if it can't, a sub-10mm thickness for a foldable smartphone is still very impressive.

The Find N5 is also said to have improved water resistance (its predecessor was only rated IPX4 for splash resistance) and a three-level alert slider. The Find N5 is expected to launch between January and March. It’s likely that it will only launch in China and arrive in international markets as the OnePlus Open 2, in which case all of the above information obviously applies to that model as well.
