Oppo released the F27 Pro+ in June without AI features, although the company promised AI for all its smartphone lineups.
Today, the company confirmed that the mid-range Pro+ will get four generative AI features on August 22 via a software update. We also learned that a regular mid-range Oppo F27 5G is in the works and is “coming soon.”
According to the announcement, the F27 Pro+ will receive an OTA update with AI Eraser 2.0, which removes background objects; AI Smart Image Matting 2.0, which crops objects as stickers; AI Studio, which generates images from drawings; and AI LinkBoost to improve call quality and optimize network usage.
Coming back to the F27 5G, we know next to nothing about the new phone, other than the fact that it will have a similar camera design with a large circle for three sensors and an LED flash. We expect Oppo to share more details in the coming days and weeks before the event.
