With the iPhone 16 launch happening practically right before our eyes, you might be wondering why you'd want one. From what I can see, AI might be the only reason to get an iPhone 16, and for many consumers, that's not a particularly compelling reason. While no major hardware improvements are expected, new reports tell us that this particular iPhone might be the best video camera Apple has ever made.
If you've been following the hype around the new iPhones, you've probably heard about a new camera button. It turns out that may not be the only camera improvement on the iPhone this year, but it plays a big role.
Industry sources claim that the iPhone16 can record in 4K 120fps, compared to 4K 60fps on the iPhone 15. According to these reports, this 120fps mode doesn't seem to be intended for slow motion, but for extra smooth recordings. I'm sure gamers with a penchant for high frame rates will approve.
Plus, if you connect your phone to external storage, you can record at ProRes 4K 120fps. Even QuickTake upgrades from 1080p to crisp 4K, and we haven't even talked about the camera button yet.

Over and beyond iPhone16 Reportedly, you can also pause and resume video recording (It was about time!).
I've mentioned it before, but this is shaping up to be the most fragmented iPhone launch in history. The EU, a key profit driver, is not getting Apple Intelligence. But the region Is Get a host of features not available anywhere else, including third-party NFC payments, alternative app stores, and the ability to change default apps.
The iPhone16 will likely be one of the best phones worth buying today. But it may not be enough to make it a worthwhile, let alone necessary, upgrade.
