New Pokémon trading card game coming to iOS and Android in October

There are already a number of Pokémon games available for mobile, but none seem to satisfy the franchise's most loyal fans. Or let's just say, fans can never have enough Pokémon games.

That's probably one of the reasons why a new Pokémon trading card game (TCG) is now set to launch on iOS and Android devices on October 30. It won't be available on the Nintendo Switch, at least not at launch, so it looks like more of a mobile-focused experience.

The upcoming game for iOS and Android devices, called “Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket,” is being developed by Creatures Inc., the original developers of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and DeNA Co., Ltd.

The game promises players casual battles during short breaks, so there doesn't seem to be any kind of competitive or ranking system. In addition, the developers have announced that players will be able to open two booster packs for free every day to collect Pokemon cards with artwork from the past, as well as new cards exclusive to this game.

The game will also include binders and display boards for players to showcase their collections. That's all we know about the new Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket game so far, but the developers are expected to offer some interesting surprises to those who pre-register.

Speaking of which, the game is now listed on the App Store and Google Play Store if you want to be notified when it's available to download. There are currently no rewards on offer though, but that could change in the next few weeks, so be sure to pre-register just in case.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will be available for free, but the game will offer in-app purchases, which essentially means players can purchase boosters if they want more than the two boosters offered for free.
