With the tiny house movement in full bloom and a growing trend towards minimalism, more and more Australians are choosing to downsize their living spaces and adopt a lifestyle that allows them to live in greater harmony with Mother Nature. Of course, when it comes to tiny house design, the possibilities are as vast as the Australian outback, but for those who want to better connect with their surroundings, tiny houses that feature a seamless indoor-outdoor flow are the best option.
One such compact home is Mt Tinbeerwah, an extremely well-constructed dual-loft model that impresses with its brightness and refreshing airflow. With extensive use of glass in all functional areas, combined with high-quality finishes throughout, this home feels like a luxurious retreat, yet is perfectly suited for full-time living.
Mt Tinbeerwah is the brainchild of LJM Tiny Homes, a Queensland-based manufacturer that has been making stunning micro homes on wheels since 2017 that prove that living in a small space doesn’t have to mean compromising. The company offers a handful of models in different sizes that each customer can customize to their needs and tastes. As a result, no two tiny homes have ever been delivered the same.
Built on a galvanised steel tri-axle flatbed trailer, the Mt Tinbeerwah model is available in three lengths: 24ft, 26ft or 28ft (7.2m), 26ft or 28ft (8.4m) and has a legal width of 8ft (2.4m) and a height of 14.1ft (4.3m), including the trailer. Effortlessly elegant with a modern exterior that blends colourbond corrugated metal siding with decorative cedar boards, this home is designed for year-round living with durable construction and quality insulation. It blends seamlessly into any natural setting, making it perfect not only for residential use but also as a holiday home in a scenic location.

A masterclass in space-efficient design, this tiny home boasts an ingenious double-loft layout that features a large living room at one end of the ground floor and a bathroom at the other, with a large kitchen and dining nook built into the center. Two sleeping lofts are also located at either end of the home, accessed via a cleverly crafted split staircase with plenty of built-in storage. The 4.3-meter (14.1-foot) height allows for incredibly spacious sleeping spaces, as well as light throughout the home.
The interior design blends Scandinavian decor with bohemian chic elements for a simple yet contemporary look. The color scheme is dominated by white and natural wood, and the overall setup encourages minimalism without losing too much functionality in the process.
The spacious living room is designed to create connections. Furnished with a comfortable sofa and coffee table, it allows for a seamless flow inside and out thanks to the double sliding doors and large windows. A front deck would be a great addition for those who enjoy spending time admiring the surroundings or hosting parties and family gatherings. This design approach is ideal for those looking to downsize and expand their living spaces in the beautiful Australian landscapes, fostering a strong connection with nature.

The full kitchen boasts plenty of storage options thanks to the base and top cabinetry and impressive features, some of which are more likely to be found in conventional homes, including a dishwasher, oven, range hood, large pull-out pantry, and a full-size family refrigerator with a built-in freezer. The kitchen’s large countertop merges into a breakfast bar with seating for three, while a huge pass-through window lets in fresh air. This window (either a tri-fold or awning-style) opens to the front deck, which can accommodate a pair of bar chairs and a narrow overhang to create an indoor-outdoor bar.
The immaculate bathroom is hidden behind a pocket door, and despite its compact size, it features all the essentials you’d find in a standard home and then some. One side of the bathroom is occupied by a full-size walk-in shower and compostable toilet, while the other side is dedicated to a vanity, storage, and laundry. There’s room for a washer/dryer, a built-in laundry hamper, and plenty of closet space for linens and towels.
The two-way staircase is useful in more ways than one. Not only does it serve as a connection between the lower level and the lofts, but it also offers plenty of storage space and the extra-wide steps can be used as seating for relaxing in the center of the house.

The master bedroom above the living room has a queen size bed and a large skylight right above the pillow area for stargazing at night. It boasts a walk-in walkway next to the bed for added convenience, as well as a built-in wardrobe and some shelves for decorating to your liking.
The secondary loft is large enough to accommodate two children's beds and is just as bright as the other, thanks to two side windows. Both lofts offer comfort and privacy, and the customer can choose between solid partition walls and shutters for the security walls.
All in all, the Mt Tinbeerwah is a gorgeous tiny home with a clever double-loft layout, plenty of practical features, and a much-desired indoor-outdoor flow that makes it perfect for nature lovers. Thanks to its versatile design, it could be used as anything from a cozy couple’s retreat to a permanent family home and everything in between. In terms of price, the turnkey version of this home costs between AUD $121,500 and $136,500 (approximately USD $79,700 and $89,600), depending on the length and features you choose.
