Land of the Dogs will receive the updated Vito, eVito, V-Class and EQV minivans with new specifications, additional safety features and new styling updates, as the leaders of the 2024 model year.
The Mercedes-Benz fleet of mid-size vans and people movers has been around unchanged since 2015 and, almost a decade later, has finally been given a major facelift to include a raft of comfort, convenience and technology upgrades, as well as a major safety technology update. The extensive light commercial vehicle range includes medium and long wheelbase models, crew cab options, a range of specification levels and even a fully electric long wheelbase eVito van.
According to the German carmaker, both commercial operators and families will benefit from “significant” updates across the range, including the Vito/eVito Tourer and the V-Class with four trim levels that include the zero-emission EQV. Mercedes-Benz also promises that all models have been reviewed and improved, from the entry-level model, the new Mercedes-Benz Vito 114 MWB Van, to the darling of luxury transport companies, the V-Class people mover.
New standard features across the range include the latest version of the MBUX infotainment system, now offered on a 10.25-inch central touchscreen with voice control via the Hey Mercedes prompt. The driver also gets a second 5.5-inch colour screen within the instrument cluster. All models also get a multifunction steering wheel with the dreaded touch-sensitive controls, so this might not seem like as big an upgrade as the other features.
The latter are a keyless start function to start and stop the engine remotely via the key fob, an electronic parking brake, and wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In terms of safety, the range comes with Active Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, and tire pressure monitoring as standard across the board. All models (except the fully electric eVito and EQV 300) are powered by the same turbodiesel engines as before, all of which are connected to the firm’s nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.
In terms of specs, the all-new 2024 Mercedes-Benz Vito 114 MWB Van has all of the above plus some, followed by the Vito 116 MWB/LWB Van or Crew Cab, which also gets Multibeam LED headlights with High Beam Assist Plus, satellite navigation, a surround-view camera and even a puddle light, among other things. Then there’s the Vito 119 LWB Van and Crew Cab, which get 17-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, an LED strip for the Van’s cargo area, plus no-cost metallic and non-metallic paint options.
The fully electric Mercedes-Benz eVito LWB Van now features pre-entry climate control, which for the first time allows the driver to remotely manage the vehicle's cabin temperature. The Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer and eVito Tourer have three rows and can accommodate up to eight people, have the same updates as the vans and also have new features such as digital radio, wireless charging, electric sliding doors and tailgate, electrically folding side mirrors and roof rails.
The Vito Tourer has a 161 hp turbodiesel engine, just like the Vito 116, but the eVito Tourer has an all-electric motor that produces 201 hp. In contrast, the eVito is powered by a much smaller 114 hp electric motor. Moving on to the luxury V-Class, Mercedes-Benz offers the new V 300 Exclusive model, the V 250 Avantgarde and the V 300 AMGThe new variant has a seven-seat configuration, illuminated rear tables, a bespoke five-slot grille surrounded by chrome and an LED fascia, and all seats are upholstered in Nappa leather, plus optional luxury seats in the second row.
