But you already knew that when we first saw the all-new 2026 Mercedes-Benz-AMG GT 4 doors Electric vehicle a few weeks ago. Subsequently, several rendering artists tried to imagine what it would look like underneath the psychedelic vinyl stickers and occasional fake plastic coverings, and between us, we didn’t like what we saw. Here’s hoping the automaker takes a different approach.
Mind you, the latest spy photos of the brand's Porsche Taycan aren't that revealing either. In fact, the car still has a strange front, but that's due to the plastic cladding. We can see a lower grille-like element in the front bumper, with a closed design, which will probably resemble the Panamericana grille. Further down, it has a wide and short air intake in the center.

The swept-back headlights are still on deck, and from what we can see, it probably has a clamshell hood, at least over the headlights and grille. The doors have flush handles for a cleaner look, and we can also see broad shoulders and sporty side skirts. By the way, you should ignore that Bugatti-esque rear end, as the taillights are temporary. We also expect the rear bumper to look very different on the final production model, and probably the trunk lid as well.
In all likelihood, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV (name unconfirmed) will likely be a four-door sedan. So if you were expecting a liftback, you’ll be disappointed, as previous and recent reports point to a four-door body style. Reports are that it will feature a high-performance battery pack and axial-flux motor technology. We don’t yet know how much power it will have, but it’s expected to launch with various powertrain configurations. Some say it will have four-digit horsepower in its flagship form, and while that sounds plausible, we’ll believe it when we see it.
In the meantime, it’s possible that other rendering artists will get the better of this model as they try to figure out what’s underneath the fake skin. It’s natural to believe that future prototypes will gradually shed the fake skin, and as testing progresses, we expect the first Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV to start showing more of its silhouette in upcoming scoops. The car’s official reveal is believed to be next year, so we’re expecting it to be a 2026 model in the New World, as there’s no reason to believe it won’t land in our market.
