UPDATE: We now have official photos and specs of the Aston Martin Vanquish, their fastest production car to date. The original story follows…

There was a time when Aston Martin’s flagship grand tourer produced 460 horsepower from a naturally aspirated V12 displacing 5.9 liters rather than the advertised 6.0 liters. But that was more than two decades ago. For the 2025 model year, the British brand’s flagship grand tourer will take the form of the all-new Vanquish, which is based on the DBS Superleggera with more power and torque.

Leaked by Instagram user Kero Wolf, then shared across multiple forums, the Vanquish Mk3 is set apart from its predecessor by a larger front grille, much more prominent heat extractors in the bonnet, new side vents, pronounced rear haunches and completely different taillights. The LED taillights are closer in design to the Valour and Victor that inspired the automaker's most powerful manual-equipped GT to date.

In stark contrast to the DB12 that replaces the DB11 and the revised Vantage, the 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish comes with Pirelli P Zero Performance tires modified specifically for this model. The DB12 and Vantage come with AML-branded Pilot Sport 5 tires, measuring 315/30 or 325/30 and 21 inches on the rear.

Unfortunately, the low resolution makes it impossible to determine the size of the newcomer’s rear tires. Featuring a Vantage-style quad-pipe exhaust system rather than the DB12’s twin-pipe exhaust system, the Vanquish also sports carbon-ceramic brakes framed by bronze-finish wheels. The DBS Superleggera replacement obviously gets touchscreen infotainment at the expense of the Mercedes-Benz COMAND system, but alas, interior photos have yet to leak.

Competing with the likes of the Bentley Continental GT Speed and the Ferrari 12Cilindri, the Vanquish sports a revised twin-turbo V12 with 835 horsepower and 730 pound-feet of torque on tap. In other words, 824 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, with most of that power going to the rear wheels via a ZF 8HP automatic transmission.

Hardware changes include new injectors, turbochargers, intake and exhaust ports for redesigned cylinder heads, reprofiled cams, a strengthened block and stronger connecting rods for added peace of mind. Aston Martin has yet to confirm whether the upgraded twin-turbo V12 displaces the same 5.2-litres as all other AE31 variants.

The third Vanquish after the original from 2001 to 2007 and the second-generation from 2012 to 2018, this guy is also related by name to a concept revealed at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Said concept was supposed to rival the McLaren 720S and Ferrari F8 Tributo with a 3.0-litre V6 engine, although both the mid-engined Vanquish and the in-house developed V6 were sadly scrapped.

Making its debut later today, the 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish has more power than its two main rivals. Now a V8 plug-in hybrid, the Conti GT makes a combined 771 horsepower and the same peak torque as the BMW XM Label and Vanquish Mk3. At the Prancing Horse in Maranello, the 12Cylinder is a different breed to the Continental GT Speed and Vanquish, boasting a naturally aspirated V12.

Without any electrical assistance or forced induction, the 6.5-liter engine is very much obliged to deliver 830 horsepower (819 PS) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) at full throttle. The big question is: do you prefer the Fezza’s 9,500-rpm engine over the low-end torque monster of the 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish?
