A Lamborghini owner got a phone call that ruined his day. His Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse had a window smashed while being delivered to someone in town for Monterey Car Week, and no one knows who did it. The car was parked in front of an Airbnb in a residential area. Now, he’s counting on the neighborhood’s CCTV to get the information he needs.
They thought the gold-wrapped car would be safe. After all, it’s Orange County, not the jungle. The Lamborghini was parked in front of an Airbnb with surveillance cameras. The house across the street has one, too. So, there’s no way the person who did this could get away with it. But who would dare even go near the Lamborghini? And why would they do that?
First of all, the owner of the Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse we talked about earlier, takes pictures of the car and the broken glass. He will need them for the insurance company. His friends who used the car tell him how it all happened.
Oddly enough, the perpetrator broke the window of the Lamborghini, which was parked right next to a BMW 7 Series, but he didn't steal anything and ignored the BMW sedan. There is no other damage to the car. There isn't even a scratch; it's just the window broken for no reason.
Now, the glass is shattered all over the carpet, the passenger seat, and the sidewalk. Before installing a new window, the owner will need to remove the door panel and get rid of all the broken glass that has fallen in there.
They will sweep away some of the glass shards and plan to park the Gallardo in a hotel’s underground parking lot, where it should be safe until Monday, when a team of experts will arrive to replace the window.

Meanwhile, the owner and his friends managed to get their hands on the CCTV footage. The video shows a cyclist entering from the left side of the screen, then the footage suddenly cuts off.
A second file continues, showing the cyclist walking out of the camera's range across the right side of the screen. As he pedals away, there is already broken glass on the Lamborghini's passenger seat. So, could this cyclist be the man who did this?
The Airbnb host says those videos are the only ones the system was able to detect. The footage in the middle looks like he has some sort of device that turns him off,” explains the homeowner. That's exactly what they thought.
The surveillance camera has WiFi connectivity, so it is likely that the attacker had a device that blocked the WiFi signal for a few seconds, which gave him just enough time to break the window of the Gallardo Squadra Corse and disappear.
