As expected, Infinix today announced its new Zero 40 series smartphones with the Zero 40 4G and Zero 40 5G. Both phones feature curved AMOLED displays, 108MP primary cameras, and 5,000mAh batteries with 45W charging. The 5G variant gets a more capable chipset, wireless charging, and a few other differences.
Infinix Zero 40 5G
The Infinix Zero 40 4G/ Zero 40 5G share the same 6.74-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, 1,300 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Zero 40 refreshes at up to 120Hz while the 5G variant gets a 144Hz panel. Both phones also feature a 50MP front camera (JN1 sensor) and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

On the back, both phones offer a 108MP primary camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL HM6 sensor (1/1.67-inch) and OIS. It’s joined by a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The Zero 40 5G records up to 4K at 60fps while the Zero 40 tops out at 2K resolution at 30fps.
Another interesting addition is the GoPro mode which allows you to pair the Zero 40/40 5G with a compatible GoPro camera and use the phone as a viewfinder and to control shooting modes directly from the camera app. The GoPro Quik app also comes pre-installed on the phones.
The Zero 40 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage while the Zero 40 is powered by the Helio G100 with 8GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage.
Infinix Zero 40 5G Key Features
Both phones run XOS 14.5 based on Android 14 and get 3 years of security patches and two Android version updates. The Zero 40 features Wi-Fi 5 connectivity while the 5G variant gets faster Wi-Fi 6e support. Both come with 5,000mAh batteries and support 45W wired charging. The Zero 40 5G also supports up to 20W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The Infinix Zero 40 4G comes in Misty Aqua, Blossom Glow and Rock Black colours while the Zero 40 5G comes in Violet Garden, Moving Titanium and Rock Black colours.
Infinix Zero 40 4G starts 1,200 MYR ($279) for the 8/256GB version in Malaysia while the Zero 40 5G is 1,699 MYR ($395)Sales in Malaysia are scheduled to open on September 8.
