Hyundai’s stunning N Vision 74 confirmed for production

Hyundai has long since outgrown its original state of boredom, to the point where it now has some exciting and beautiful vehicles in its lineup. The key is to continue doing a good job, and the Korean company plans to do just that with more models that will enter production in the coming years.

One of these will be the N Vision 74, introduced just over two years ago as a concept. The study was inspired by Giugiaro's 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe, hence the good looks, and will hit the assembly line.

Mind you, this isn’t just a rumor or a report, as the confirmation has come directly from Hyundai. The automaker has hidden some slides in its 2024 CEO Investor Day event recently, and one of them revealed that the N Vision 74 has been included in the company’s new model lineup by 2030, which will consist of 21 vehicles.

Considered as “a high-performance electric vehicle,“the production variant could actually drop into the battery-electric range with Electric vehicle firepower. Either that, or it would feature an evolution of the hydrogen fuel cell mounted on the study. However, our bet would be on electric vehicles rather than hydrogen.

Various rumors claim that the production of this car could be limited to 100 units, with 70 for road use and the rest for racing. So, if this turns out to be correct, then we imagine that Hyundai could stick with the hydrogen recipe without any problems. The concept enjoyed 671 horsepower and its production version could reach around 800 horsepower.

Aside from whether it will actually go into production, we don’t know anything about the Hyundai N Vision 74, and there are conflicting reports when it comes to different figures. For example, while some believe 800 horsepower is realistic, others say it could launch with 775 horsepower. But when is that expected? Before 2030, according to Hyundai, while others still talk about a production start in 2026.

Unofficial information that has not been confirmed claims that the Korean automaker has already started the R&D phase. If that is true, then we should see the first prototypes out in the open very soon. However, they will probably feature a lot of camouflage on their bodies, including probably some fake plastic cladding to better camouflage the design, although, if nothing else, we believe that the apple (production model) will not fall far from the tree (concept) in terms of looks.

From what we can tell, the Hyundai N Vision 74 is going to be an exciting and ultra-punchy product. We hope the car brand doesn't limit its production or keep it hungry for hydrogen. So, is the N Vision 74 something you'd consider buying for the right amount of money? If so, would you prefer to have it with electric or hydrogen power?
