Although its history began not long ago, when the small car Hyundai Pony (1975-1990) was the first South Korean car to be exported and mass-produced, the Asian car manufacturer has quickly grown to become one of the biggest names in the global automotive industry.

Like all other major car manufacturers, the South Korean company has also been keen to showcase its prowess through various concept cars, including the stunning Santa Cruz, the elegant Prophecy, and the retro-futuristic 2022 N Vision 74.

The latter continued Hyundai's recent focus on futuristic pixel-like design combined with alternative powertrain technologies and a desire to hark back to its heritage at the same time. The name is a direct reference to the Pony Coupe Concept designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign and originally unveiled at the 1974 Turin Motor Show.

Legend has it that its design, not commissioned by Hyundai but rather branded with the South Korean automaker’s logos just before the show, inspired the creation of the iconic DMC DeLorean. However, for Hyundai, the important thing is that it led to the creation of the N Vision 74 prototype almost half a century later, featuring two electric motors on the rear axle with a combined output of 670 hp and a propulsion system that incorporates both a battery pack and a fuel cell system.

Now, a couple of years later, the incredibly cool N Vision 74 concept has been confirmed for production by Hyundai at the company’s annual CEO and Investor Day presentation, mentioning the N Vision 74 as part of its plan to launch 21 new models by 2030 and placing it in its high-performance range. Electric vehicle category. Naturally, this news bodes well for both the buzz and the parallel universes of vehicular CGI.

There, the imaginative realm of automotive digital content creators is already hard at work envisioning the series production look of the N Vision 74 concept. For example, Avarvarii Automotive Artworks (aka avarvari on social media) took a close look at the Hyundai concept and decided to transform it into a stunning, wedge-shaped two-door coupe, unofficially and hypothetically named the Hyundai Pony 75 N, in homage to both the prototype and the original Pony series launched in 1975.

Although it has been tamed for the sake of series production, the design project still retains much of the concept's look: the pixel master dressed it in “Performance Blue,” retained the square Pixel LED headlights, as well as the overall proportions with a long hood and short, fastback-style rear overhang. Unfortunately, the CGI expert only shows a three-quarter front POV and says nothing about potential powertrain options, although it's safe to assume it will be inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
