Huawei's triple foldable device appears in new live photo

Huawei is working on a triple-folding smartphone, and we've seen a photo of the device unfolded in the hands of Richard Yu, CEO of its Consumer Business Group (CBG) division.

Today, exactly a week later, another photo appeared on the Internet, and at this point it seems unlikely that these “leaks” are accidental. Here, the leader is holding the device in its folded form. It can be seen that it is an extremely thin device with a bulging camera island.

The device is expected to feature a 10-inch foldable display and is expected to arrive this fall ahead of the Mate 70 series (which is expected in mid-to-late Q4). The camera island resembles the Mate X5's setup, and we should point out that the folded phone doesn't feel particularly thick or wide in the hands of a regular person.

The battery inside is of course a new silicon-carbon technology, already adopted by several other China-based smartphone makers. It allows for higher energy density, although it has yet to match the faster charging capabilities of its traditional competitors.
