Huawei has been teasing its first foldable smartphone for a few weeks now, and we finally have a name for the device: the Mate XT. Huawei's Mate series is one of Huawei's two flagship series alongside the Pura series. The Mate series is typically aimed at early adopters and was the brand's first lineup to feature a foldable device with the Mate X in 2019.
The Mate XT will be part of the Ultimate Design brand, Huawei's premium lineup and the spiritual successor to the Huawei – Porsche Design partnership that ended in 2022. The new teaser video suggests that the Mate XT will focus on video recording with continuous zoom capabilities, although there are no details yet. The Mate XT is expected to offer a 10-inch display when fully unfolded.

Huawei will hold a special launch event on September 10, where we'll see the Mate XT debut alongside a few other devices. Huawei's first foldable will be joined by the Watch GT 5 and Watch D2, as well as a five-seater version of the Aito M9 electric vehicle.
