Huawei is working on a tri-fold smartphone, and we've seen the device twice, both times in the hands of Richard Yu, CEO of the consumer division. Now, the man himself has confirmed that the phone will be released in September.

The executive attended a delivery ceremony for the Stelato S9, an electric car with an infotainment system running HarmonyOS. During the event, a customer asked Yu how the tri-fold phone's launch was going and when he could buy the device, to which he received a simple answer: “next month.”

The tri-fold smartphone is expected to feature a massive 10-inch display. It remains to be seen whether this smartphone will be part of the Mate series like the Mate X lineup. With so many teasers, the official campaign is just around the corner.
